About Howard F.I'm a landscape architect, photoblogger, video gamer, basic cable junky, and rangefinder nut. I drink iced americano even on the coldest of mornings. I listen to alternative rock (kroq.fm), bt techno mixes, and spend hours at the trip-hop section in any music store. I hate slow drivers, always respect other individuals (and other people's stuff), unless being disrespected upon. I enjoy subway and trains, fascinated by waterfalls and abandoned buildings, and always put two spaces after a period (but aminus3 wouldn't let me). I scored 780 on my sat exam, got a 99% on my driving test, and have much luck at finding wallets & purses (with cash still in them) on streets. I once blazed inside a '68 vw bus on halloween night, got my photo published on the 2nd page of my high school year book, fluent in chinese, and eat all vegetables. I have been taking photos since 1982. it became a serious hobby during college. it is now part of my daily life, and i do get depressed when my gears malfunctions, or a roll comes out completely shitty. I love toy cameras both film and digital. I am no pro or armature. I care less about my photog status and how many visitors I receive. just hand me a camera and I'll try my best to be creative and fill the frame with something interesting. I don't think the best equipment can yield the best image, it might help, but what is behind the viewfinder matters the most. above all, having fun is finial. I have owned every brand of digital camera listed on dpreviews.com but never kept a model for more than one year. I also own a box filled with film cameras and maintain them regularly. I have a bachelor's and a master's degree in landscape architecture, both received from california state polytechnic univ. at pomona. I am married. my wife is a graphic designer, and bakes good croissant. I live in south pasadena, est. 1888. it is a small suburb n.e. of downtown los angeles, and I say no to the '710'. majority of my pictures are taken in the san gabriel valley regions of the l.a. county. @ elsewhere: ...and: Photography Equipmenttoo many to list. I have a big crate filled with cameras & packets of moisture absorbents... I have several nikon bricks from early 80's... no dslr. been there done that. acdsee pro 2's built-in editor; i can't photoshop. |
