I shot a series of photos- for unknown reason- with yellow as the main theme. first, we have- a yellow curtain!

I believe it takes a lot of artistic talent and a good eye, to capture something so simple and make it look so beautiful. There are many things to consider; the light under the curtain and filtering through it, the balance of light, dark and mid-tones, the shadow on the curtain (a bush or tree?) and as mentioned before the colours and textures.

A person who takes snapshots would look at this and wonder what the big deal is. But for people here, we probably wonder what time of day was it taken to create that light, what filters or effects were applied, and maybe even "Why didn't I shoot this photo?" ; )

@blistr: Thanks Blistr, really appreciate your comment. I have been looking at this curtain since God knows when but never once consider it for a shot. And it's those moment when you're not trying, something interesting comes out. I was actually swapping battery and lens for a day trip. Took one shot making sure the battery had enough juice on it, and head right out without thinking about it. I uploaded the pic last night and thought to myself- I like this, uhh when did I take this shot???

I really like how this photo is framed, the warm colors that filter through the curtain and the rough edge at the bottom make this photo attractive. I do wonder though, why did you name your photo blog 5-Blend Oolong, any chance you like tea? It intrigues me.

@Brian: Thanks Brian. I do like tea, oolong mostly. Not only it is good for digestion, it seriously wakes you up without the feeling of being wired. (I drink tons of Americano as well). When I first came migrated to Aminus3 I couldn't think of a name for my photoblog. So I had cheezy temp name while I come up a new idea. One day sitting at office, my tea can was down to a pinch and I scrambled in office scrounging tea from coworkers and my boss. I got 4 teaspoons of various oolong and green teas. Brewed it, and it was just weird tasting but super strong though. And that's when I came up with my current name.

I like these sort of "found" photos, which take a special kind of eye to see. Very well done.
