howard, this is fantastic. it would be a good landscape photo without the windmills, but they add something that just pushes it over the top.

@gbe: Thanks Gbe. I totally agree! The desert itself and the thunder clouds is interestingly enough. A lot of photographers would hike down to the windmills for shoots, but one has to crawl under barbed wires and fences. I chickened out :P

This is a marvelous shot. The contrasts are really fine. Ironically, the windmills don't look "giant" from this perspective, buy actually form an interesting (rather than dominant) part of the landscape. Love the clarity in the mountains.

@GJC: Haha, some of the propellers are as long as a 747's wingspan, but definitely small from this vantage point.

exquisite. though the windmills are many, they still seem small and overpowered. perhaps there's a message here about how small we really are???

@Mindy: Thanks Mindy. I felt minute even when I was standing many miles away, the scale is awesome. Take the five bigger windmill for example at the right... notice the line of boxes just at the base of the towers... see it? That is the San Bernardino Freeway I-10 and those boxes are cars.
